Graduate of Pittsburgh Schenley High School, Kevin Carter is the founder and CEO of the Adonai Center for Black Males, Inc, an organization working to ensure the social, educational, and economic advancement of black males.  Mr. Carter has received various awards and accolades for his efforts in community service, education, and youth development and currently serves on the boards of Pittsburgh Community Services, Northside Coalition for Fair Housing, and the Scoutreach Committee – Laurel Highlands Boy Scout Council.

Mr. Carter has served as a four-time Ambassador, representing the United States, at the One Young World Summit as well as a Delegate for the United Nations Global Education Forum in 2013.

Carter, 23, is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Adonai Center for Black Males on the North Side.  It is a nonprofit organization that focuses on human capital development and leadership skills for young African-Americans, adding his name to the growing number of 20-somethings choosing to stay in Pittsburgh to start their careers and make a difference in the community.=

“We [at Adonai Center] wanted to come up with a way to prepare African-American males to master their own futures and not let that be dictated by the enormous amounts of gang and street violence and peer pressure that they experience,” said Carter.
